Risen Savior
• Because Jesus Christ is like no other man. He has always been God. He is the only way to God, the world’s only Savior.
• Because Jesus loved each of us so much that he suffered and died for all our disobedience against God.
• Because Jesus rose from the dead to give us life with God now and forever.
Evangelical
• Because “evangelical” means “emphasizing good news.”
• Because we rejoice above all in the good news that Jesus has opened heaven to us.
• Because we are eager to share the good news of Jesus with everyone.
Lutheran
• Because we believe, as Martin Luther (1483–1546) stressed, that God saves us from the punishment in hell which we deserve only because of his mercy.
• Because we recognize, with Luther, that we cannot do anything to earn God’s love. By trusting in it, we receive it— totally as a gift.
• Because we are sure, as Luther was, that every word of the Bible is God’s Word, so the Bible is completely true, and it alone tells us what to believe and do.
